St. Patrick's Day Message on The MOTHERS Act
3/17/08: FOUR YEARS AGO TODAY
Edgington's blog about her newborn baby Manie's open-heart surgery
to correct a Paxil-caused heart defect.)
Four years ago today, GSK had not yet warned of Paxil heart defects.
The FDA had not warned of suicides caused by Zoloft and other SSRIs,
or homicides caused by antidepressant drugs. One-week-old Manie was
in a 12-hour surgery, the first open-heart surgery in a series of
many surgeries to come. Isaac Philo was alive but not yet born, and
still had not suffered any exposure to drugs in milk, nor had he
been put at risk from the dangerous thoughts Zoloft would soon cause
in me, his mother. I was healthy, happy, and unprepared for what was
to come.
Click here to read about why these drugs are
so dangerous, and in fact do the exact opposite of what is needed
for recovery for those who get duped into taking the drugs. This is
an explanation of the action of serotonergic drugs, testimony that
contributed to the issuance of our current black box suicide warning
from the FDA.
To read more about some of the negative consequences of taking a
serotonergic drug, please click here and read this article about
Serotonin Syndrome, and especially look at the drugs that are also
serotonergic (cocaine, LSD, PCP, meth, etc.).
Four
years ago today, the MOTHERS Act was about to fail for the second
time in Congress. Why now do we suddenly have so much overwhelming
support for this bill?
